Job Description

As a Head of Bakery, you are responsible for operating bakery while working closely with the Founders and Head of Production. He or She will also be required to plan production and develop seasonal offerings.

  • Manages all day-to-day operations of the bakery operations. 
  • Prepare a wide variety of goods such as sourdough bread, croissants, cookies, tea cakes, etc. following already set recipes and technique of the company.
  • Able to develop, designs, or creates new ideas and items for Pastry Kitchen.
  • Able to manage the manpower under him, usually a team size of 10-12 people. Should be good at allocating task and training staff.
  • Should be responsible for maintaining quality standards and able to tweak SOPs to adjust to the new climate or ingredients 
  • Ensure excellent quality throughout the offering and making sure all SOPs of quality control are followed in the day to day business operations.
  • Follows proper handling and right temperature of all food products along with FSSAI standard.
  • Check quality of material and condition of equipment and devices used for cooking.
  • Report all equipment problems and maintenance issues, known safety hazards, or unsafe practices and procedures to supervisor immediately.
  • Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement.
  • Must possess a positive attitude and have the ability to work with a variety of people and in cooperation with co-workers efficiently and effectively
  • Able to recognise superior quality products, presentations and flavours.


Prerequisites:

  • Good knowledge of different types of baking techniques, especially sourdough breads and croissants.
  • Possess professional disposition with good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts including weekends, days, afternoons and evenings.
  • Positive attitude and Good communication skills.

Education:

High school diploma or 3 years experience in the culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area or 2-year degree from an accredited university in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major.

Experience:

Minimum of 4 years of experience in a leadership role in a renowned bakery section of an organisation and should have experience of managing people.
